Product Feed Specifications

Use this specification to format your product information for Incito. Structuring your product data correctly ensures the best experience for your customers and enables enhanced automation technology.

Incito supports product data feeds in XML and JSON formats that adhere to the specifications below.

Basic Product Data

The attributes below form the foundation of your Incito publication. Ensure the information you submit is accurate and customer-ready.

1. Product ID (id)

  • Required
  • Description: Unique identifier for your product.
  • Example: A42B89
  • Specifications:
    • Maximum 50 characters.
    • Use a unique value, preferably the SKU.
    • Consistently use the same ID for the same product across countries or languages.
    • Avoid invalid characters like control, function, or private-use characters.

2. Product Name (title)

  • Required
  • Description: Name of your product.
  • Example: iPhone 11 Max
  • Specifications:
    • Maximum 50 characters.
    • Accurately match the title on your landing page.
    • Avoid promotional text (e.g., “free shipping”), all caps, or gimmicky characters.

3. Product Description (description)

  • Optional
  • Description: A brief description of the product.
  • Example: Made from 100% organic cotton, this classic red men’s polo has a slim fit.
  • Specifications:
    • Maximum 150 characters.
    • Match the description on your landing page.
    • Focus on the product; avoid links, sales details, or competitor information.

4. Product URL (link)

  • Optional
  • Description: URL of your product’s landing page.
  • Example: https://www.example.com/shop?cat=12&id=1030
  • Specifications:
    • Must start with http or https.
    • Use a verified domain name and an encoded URL.

5. Product Image (image)

  • Required
  • Description: URL of the product’s main image.
  • Example: https://www.example.com/image1.png
  • Specifications:
    • Use JPEG for environmental images and PNG for others.
    • Images must accurately represent the product.
    • Minimum dimensions: 600x600 pixels (non-apparel products).

6. Product Category (category)

  • Optional
  • Description: Hierarchical category for the product.
  • Example: Home > Women > Dresses > Maxi Dresses
  • Specifications:
    • Maximum 750 characters.
    • Provide the full category path.

Price & Availability

These attributes define the price, unit, and availability of your products.

1. Price (price)

  • Required
  • Description: The product’s price.
  • Example: 15.00
  • Specifications:
    • Must include VAT or GST.
    • For bulk, bundles, or multipacks, provide the total price for the minimum purchasable quantity.

2. Currency (currency)

  • Required
  • Description: Currency of the price.
  • Example: DKK
  • Specifications:
    • Use ISO 4217 codes.

3. Per Unit (per_unit)

  • Optional
  • Description: Unit of the product if sold in bundles or multipacks.
  • Example: Piece

4. Membership Pricing (membership_pricing)

  • Optional
  • Description: Price for members.
  • Example: 10.00
  • Specifications:
    • Match the membership price on your landing page.

5. Savings (savings)

  • Optional
  • Description: Savings amount compared to the regular price.
  • Example: 100.00

6. Validity Dates (valid_from / valid_through)

  • Optional
  • Description: The dates the product is available for display.
  • Examples: 2016-07-11T11:07:31
  • Specifications:
    • Use ISO 8601 format.

7. Quantity (quantity)

  • Optional
  • Description: The product’s weight, volume, or size.
  • Example: 1.5kg

8. Availability (availability)

  • Optional
  • Description: Product’s stock status.
  • Example: in_stock
  • Values:
    • in_stock
    • out_of_stock

Section Order & Priority

These attributes determine the order and prominence of your products in Incito.

1. Cohort (cohort)

  • Optional
  • Description: Section number of the product.
  • Example: 3

2. Priority (priority)

  • Optional
  • Description: Product’s priority within its section.
  • Example: A
  • Values:
    • A (high priority)
    • B (low priority)

Offer Identifiers

Attributes to group or identify product variations.

1. Brand (brand)

  • Optional
  • Description: Product’s brand name.
  • Example: Apple
  • Specifications:
    • Maximum 70 characters.
    • Avoid values like “Generic” or “No Brand.”

2. Global Trade Item Number (GTIN)

  • Required (if assigned)
  • Description: Product’s GTIN.
  • Example: 3001234567892

3. Manufacturer Part Number (MPN)

  • Required (if no GTIN)
  • Description: Product’s MPN.
  • Example: APP012345678LE

Detailed Product Description

Optional attributes to enhance product presentation.

1. Features (features)

2. Comments (comment / secondary_comment)

  • Optional
  • Description: Unique selling points and highlights.
